Meet the speakers

Rafiq Razali

Rafiq, 36, an alumni of INTEC Education College and a graduate in Actuarial Science from Pennsylvania State University had a career in information technology with Maxis Berhad where he held various responsibilities in the International Data Wholesale and the Corporate Strategy divisions.

He was part of the team which formed Groupon Malaysia in 2011 and was promoted as Groupon’s Country General Manager for Malaysia in 2013. In 2015, Rafiq and a group of investors established KFit, now known as Fave, a Malaysian start-up company.

Currently, Rafiq is the Group Executive Director of Media Prima Berhad and aims to further consolidate Media Prima’s position as the largest integrated media group in Malaysia to fulfill the ever-changing needs of its customers.

Azeem Abu Bakar

Azeem, 30, an alumni of Kolej Yayasan UEM, is a graduate in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE). He co-founded a media analytics and open-source intelligence company as a student in London, that served top government officials, ministries and the armed forces.

He was with UEM Group and UEM Sunrise Berhad for eight years and was the special officer to the managing director with oversight on business development, finance and strategic planning.

Currently, Azeem is the Managing Director and CEO Free Malaysia Today (FMT), the English news agency with the largest reader base in the country. Known to be an independent media, FMT strives to provide intelligent and balanced content to its audience.
